Assistant Financial Controller The overall scope of this role is to handle and monitor all matters relating to health center regarding personal training and conducting individual and group classes to all guests.   Kempinski Hotel MuscatKey Responsibilities\:Daily accounting tasks are performed and all reports are prepared and distributed on time.Accounting staff is motivated and fully trained in all their duties and responsibilities.All legal and corporate requirements and regulations are met.Books are closed monthly in a timely and accurate manner.Tax calculation and reporting is accurate and on time.At Kempinski, Talent Development is a management responsibility and consequently an integral and important part of our Managers’ daily activities.The Assistant Financial Controller fulfils their role as a Talent Development Ambassador when\:They actively support and implement Talent Development initiatives as a part of their daily activities.They identify Training talents in their department and throughout the hotels as per below definition* and actively support their career development.They support and initiate transfer, cross exposure and task force assignments for their team.They personally conduct TTTTs with their team on a regular basis and take personal interest for their talents’ development plans.They recruit and select potential talent according to the Company’s current and future hotel, regional and worldwide needs including conducting interviews for positions in their department and their region.A Hotel Talent is an employee, who has the ability to do the current job in their hotel and can be promoted to the next level. Mobility is what makes this person a Kempinski Talent.Responsible for following and understanding all Kempinski Policies & Procedures.Responsible for behaving in a professional and harmonious manner and following the Kempinski code of conduct.Responsible for understanding and having a working knowledge of all areas in accounting and being able to assist or cover a position if neededResponsible for ensuring that local legislation and procedures are followed.Responsible for preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations during month-end closing.Responsible for ensuring that all journal entries are accurate and have been signed off before posting.Responsible for ensuring that all balance sheet accounts are in good order and up to date.Responsible for preparing or overseeing the preparation of all tax returns.Responsible for ensuring that all fees are calculated accurately and comply with the Management Agreements.Responsible for assisting the Controller with forecasting and budgeting.Responsible for performing any controller tasks during his absence.Responsible for hiring, motivating, counseling, coaching, evaluating, scheduling, etc, of the Accounting staff.Responsible for assisting department heads with making relevant and accurate decisions on financial matters.Responsible for continuously looking for improvements and ways to enhance efficiencies.Responsible for performing any additional duties assigned by the controller and assisting in all areas of Finance as needed.Responsible for communicating with the controller on any discrepancies or other potential problems. 
Desired Skills & Qualifications\:Minimum five years in an accounting management position.Minimum two years as assistant financial controllerAbility to handle high volume with attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAn ability to establish and retain effective working relationships with hotel staff and clients/vendorsExcellent organizational and time management skillsApplies a professional, confidential and ethical approach at all timesWorks in a safe, prudent and organized mannerAbility to operate computer and office equipmentProficiency in Excel and WordExperience in respective accounting software is a plusKnowledge of the generally accepted accounting principles, PCI DSS and local regulations.Experience in reporting, forecasting and budgeting.About Kempinski Hoteliers since 1897, we have travelled the world in search of the most fascinating destinations without ever forgetting the finest traditions of our European heritage.
